Who will provide your care?
Our priority is to deliver the highest standard of person centered care by getting the right patient to the right health care professional at the right time.
In support of this aim we have a multi-disciplinary team of highly experienced health care professionals. This includes two full time GP’s, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacist’s, Pharmacist Technician, Practice Nurse, Treatment Room Nurse, Community Nursing Team, Community Treatment And Care (CTAC) Nurses, Physiotherapist, Dementia Nurse and Midwife. This broad range of professionals helps us ensure you speak to the best person for your problem.
From 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday there is a designated duty GP. The GP will conduct am and pm surgery with a range of urgent same day and routine consultations. The duty GP is an expert medical generalist and provides guidance and decision support to the wider multidisciplinary team throughout the day.
Clinical Administrators
Our reception staff play a vital role in helping our patients access the most appropriate care in a timely manner. Understanding the nature of your health care concern helps them direct you to the most appropriate health care professional. The team are trained in signposting and bound by a strict code of conduct regarding confidentiality.
Appointments: Aberlour Medical Practice consultations and contacts can be accessed in a number of ways:
E-consult:
This has been one of our recent developments, we went live on Friday 9 September.
This allows patients to submit their symptoms or requests to the practice electronically and offers around the clock NHS self-help information, signposting to services, and a symptom checker
Same Day Urgent Consultations:
To ensure patients with a genuinely urgent health care problem are able to access same day support we run a daily Urgent Triage system.
If you have an urgent matter requiring same day contact please call the practice on 01340 871210 requesting addition to the Urgent Triage List.
Our Clinical Administrators will ask for you to provide as much information as possible.
You will be added to the morning or afternoon triage list depending on the time of your call.
Patients on the morning triage list should expect to be called prior to 1300.
Afternoon triage list patients should expect a call prior to 1730.
You will not receive a precise time for contact,
Due to the unpredictable nature of any health care setting there may be times where your contact is delayed due to other clinical priorities/emergencies.
It is important you provide the number you will be available on that day for your contact.
You may be asked to email photographs to: gram.aberlouradminstrator@nhs.scot
You may be re-directed, receive a telephone/Near Me consultation, asked to attend for a face to face appointment ,booked to attend for bloods or other diagnostics/examinations.
If for some reason you miss our contact you will be sent a text message and asked to contact the practice.
Please note that whilst our Duty Doctor will oversee the Triage List you will be contacted by the most appropriate member of the multi-disciplinary team as deemed clinically appropriate.
Routine Appointments
Each clinician has a range of pre-bookable appointments within their morning and afternoon surgeries for routine matters.
We are currently sitting at a two week wait due to Festive Period and staff sickness.
Your routine appointment request will be triaged and directed to the most appropriate clinician,
Our responsibility to the community is to direct patients to the most appropriate health care professionals in the team. This in turn releases GP time to consult with patients who specifically require a GP consultation.
You will not be given an exact time slot but a time window of one hour in which you should expect a contact.
Cancellations
If you are no longer available for any reason for your scheduled contact please inform us as soon as possible for reallocation.
Face- to -Face appointments:
Contrary to press and social media miss-information we have and do continue to see patients for Face to Face consultations on a daily basis.
Minimising footfall is part of our duty of care to protect our most vulnerable patients.
All our face –to- face appointments are triaged by clinicians with other appointment modalities considered in order to minimise footfall and protect our most vulnerable patients and our staff. The decision for face to face is a clinical decision made by experienced clinicians.
To simplify the decision making applied by clinicians regarding choice of appointment modalities:
Please be re-assured our experienced professionals will continually assess your need for a Face to Face appointment and will not hesitate to ask you to come in if deemed clinically required.
Please Help Us Keep Our Community And Our Staff Safe
Please do not attend if you are symptomatic. Please call the practice to discuss how we safely provide you with the care you need.
Face Coverings are essential for Face to Face appointments. If you are unable to wear a Face Covering please contact our Clinical Administrators in advance of your appointment for safe guarding measures to be put in place.
Please attend at the time of you appointment. If you arrive early you will be asked to wait in your car until your appointment time. Please attend you appointment alone, unless there is a specific need for support.
Thank you for your ongoing support during these challenging and changing times
